"Entre Vinyes" is a small and artisanal winery located in Penedes wine region, Catalunya. The project of Maria Barrena and her husband Josep Tort was based on the idea to produce wines that express the potential of the Mediterranean landscape… Care their old vineyards with the philosopy of maximum respect and increasing biodiversity is the natural and logical way of conceiving grape cultivation and agriculture in general. Based on the belief that wines can be authentic only by letting nature act freely; Maria & Josep project can only make sense by working that way. They strongly believe that the intervention in the natural process of wine making should be kept to a minimum, allowing the fruit to express its true essence and the terroir, the uniqueness of where the grapes come from ......

Minimalist but precise winemaking in order to produce pure and high-quality wines. Solely native yeasts - ageing in amphoras - no filtering or fining of the wines, minimal use of sulphur prior to bottling.

In fact, the family vineyards were planted about 60 years ago in the Baix Penedès area, close to the Mediterranean sea and adjacent or inside the national park. There are 25 hectares of vineyards of Xarel.lo, Macabeu, Parellada and Chardonnay planted between 300 and 350 meters altitude. The old vines are surrounded by rich biodiversity, encouraging natural balance to be found in both the vineyards and the wine.
